A rolled-on paint job or a DIY kit from the big-box store isn't going to survive a Memphis summer. Garage floor epoxy — done right, with diamond grinding and moisture testing — is what actually holds up. We install residential garage epoxy across Memphis and the Mid-South with commercial-grade materials, trained crews, and fixed pricing before the job starts.

When You Need Garage Floor Epoxy

Your garage floor is telling you when it's time. Bare concrete that dusts constantly is breaking down — that fine gray powder on your car is the slab itself. Old paint that's peeling or blistering traps moisture underneath and ruins the concrete. Hot-tire pickup — those black sticky marks where tires sit — is a clear sign the previous coating failed. New construction garages need sealing before the concrete gets stained by oil, salt, or tire rubber that's nearly impossible to remove later. Oil stains, rust rings, and pitting all mean the concrete is absorbing everything that hits it. Waiting costs you money because the longer concrete goes unsealed, the more prep work it needs before a coating can go down. Catch it now and the job is straightforward.

Our Garage Floor Epoxy Process

Every garage floor epoxy install starts with diamond grinding — we run an industrial planetary grinder across the entire slab to open up the concrete so the epoxy bonds mechanically, not just chemically. We moisture-test the slab, repair any cracks with structural repair compound, and patch pitting. Then the base coat epoxy goes down, flakes get broadcast into the wet epoxy if you want them, and a clear topcoat seals everything in. Color options include solid colors, flake blends (tan, gray, black, custom), or metallic if you want something higher-end. Most two-car garages are finished in 2 to 3 days with traditional epoxy, or 1 day if you opt for a polyaspartic topcoat instead.

Garage Floor Epoxy Cost in Memphis

Finished gray flake epoxy in a one-car Memphis garage
Finished one-car flake install

Most 2-car garages land between $3,800 and $4,600 in flake or solid color, and between $6,800 and $8,600 in metallic. A 1-car garage starts at $2,000. Basements and larger garages scale from there. We give free in-home quotes with fixed pricing — you know the number before we start, and we don't add surprise charges for crack repair or moisture mitigation because that work is included. If the slab needs serious repair, we'll tell you up front.

Why Epoxy Floors Peel, and Why Yours Will Not

The two most common causes are skipping the diamond grind, and coating over concrete that has a moisture problem. Contamination the grinder never reached, a slab that is still too green, and hot-tire pickup on a thin or wrong topcoat account for most of the rest.

We diamond-grind every slab

Industrial planetary equipment opens the concrete profile so the coating bonds mechanically into the slab. Never acid etching.

We moisture-test before we coat

A moisture test runs before any coating goes down. If the numbers come back high, we change the system.

We put down two to three times the material

Our base coat goes down at 100 square feet per gallon. Thin installers spread the same gallon over 250 to 300 square feet — roughly a third of the film. Then flake is broadcast to rejection, about 40 pounds per 200 square feet, and sealed under a polyaspartic topcoat.

That is what separates floors that last from floors that fail.

Grinding takes a day and a crew. Three times the material costs three times the material. That is most of the difference between our quote and a cheaper one — and it is the reason we can put a lifetime warranty on the bond instead of hoping it holds.

Lifetime Warranty Against Delamination

Every indoor floor we install - flake, solid colour or metallic - carries a lifetime warranty against delamination. If the coating ever lifts away from the slab because of how we prepped or bonded it, we come back and put it right. We can promise that because of the two things above, not in spite of them: a slab ground to bare concrete and three times the base coat does not let go.
